“The Girl with Daddy Issues: A Story of Love, Legacy, and Paradoxes”

From the moment I made my grand entrance into this world, I’ve always been the curious, mischievous, and endlessly happy kid. Let me give you a little background about my genetic heritage.

My dad was, and still is, quite the ladies’ man—so I can definitely say that my good looks and magnetic personality are part of the family genes. On the other hand, my mom is an epitome of ethics, strength, and beauty. As for my height, that definitely came from her side, even though my parents are the same height.

Now, imagine this: My mom is dusky and strong, and my dad is fair-skinned. As you can imagine, being a tall, dusky girl in Indian society came with its own set of challenges. So, I took my skin tone from my dad—just to make life a little easier, because “gori nai toh chhori nai” (if you’re not fair, you’re not desirable). But from my mom, I inherited all the ethics and from my dad, all the charm and charisma. You could say I’m a blend of paradoxes—a term I love because it feels like it describes me perfectly.

Two imperfect people created me with their perfection, but like every story, there’s a twist. My mom, though gorgeous and strong, was forced by my grandfather to marry my dad, who, despite being incredibly handsome, wasn’t exactly the best husband or father.

So, yes, I’m that girl with daddy issues, and we all know that when a girl has daddy issues, she can become an issue herself. But that’s a story for another time.

Stay tuned for the next blog, where I share the story of Khushi, spreading happiness along the way.
